Like Mini DisplayPort, HDMI, and Thunderbolt to come, the Mini-DVI port on early MacBook Pro models allowed external displays to be connected. So my Mac was working all fine but all at a sudden it didn’t boot up but only fan starts revolving at full speed making lot of noise. The USB-C signal works fine, but the HDMI signal periodically cuts out to a black screen for 2-3 seconds, then comes back. Even GPU-intensive tasks like rendering videos in Final Cut Pro X perform at the same speed as without the external monitors. Tried SMS reset, NVRAM reset, unplugged battery and fan cable. Below there, I have listed some of the top fixes that you can perform to get out of the MacBook Pro Screen Flickering problem.
when i'm in osx and use my 24" external monitor, everything is fine, but when i'm in windows and set the resolution of my external monitor to its native 1920x1080, the edges of the screen get cut off as you can see in the pics.
Erase the external drive with macOS Recovery, and install macOS on it.
